For years, Fakespot was the tool people reached for when an Amazon listing felt off. Mozilla acquired it in 2023 — and then shut it down in July 2025. If you're here, you probably just discovered that gap the hard way.
Here's the honest landscape of what's left, and where ClearCart fits.
What Fakespot actually did — and didn't do
Fakespot graded the reviews on a listing you were already looking at: paste a URL or click the badge, get a letter grade estimating how many reviews were fake. Useful — but it was reactive. You had to notice a product, suspect it, and check it. The junk still filled your search results; you were just better armed while wading through it.
A different approach: filter the junk before you see it
ClearCart works one step earlier. Instead of grading reviews on one product, it scores every listing on the search page against the fingerprints of dropshipped junk:

The privacy difference
Fakespot analyzed listings on its servers, which meant your browsing flowed through them.
